This felt like horror sci-fi. All the scrubbing in a filthy, antiseptic future. Maybe I’ll be reincarnated as a costume designer. Doorways everywhere.

Thank you! 🖤

Oh, that sounds lovely. I’ll start thinking about dress patterns.

There is a line from an old song, "If there's no audience, then there ain't no show." I think we can safely assume equal responsibility. Appreciate your insights.

What a simple and true line.

Thank you! I can never manage a constructive conversation about this topic IRL, or one on one, so it was nice to put it into a poem. :)

I don’t scroll and yet I want to be an influencer. How contradictory is that?

Debdutta Pal's avatar

I have so many contradictory thoughts, I need a bigger house. 😁

‘Looking for answers everywhere but inside ourselves.’ Been there, done that. It’s so much easier to look outside for the fix. At least it seems that way until you realize it never works.

Another thought provoking poem, Debdutta.

Couldn’t agree more. In hindsight, the solution was simple, but when I was there? The road was a maze. 😁

Thank you! 🖤

Horror poetry IS fascinating, Deb. You've nailed this. The vampire line had me. I've been there, not quite the same ;) Love this.

Thank you! 🖤

An ethereal beauty luring people in…sounds familiar. 😆

I do find parallels from my party days, but this is on a much larger scale. Similar concepts, though, I think. Glad you liked it.

I really enjoyed this! Influencer culture is so bizzare and foreign to me but I am reading this book right now called Yesteryear about a trad wife influencer who finds herself in the 1800's living as a real trad wife.

Thank you!

Wow, what a fascinating premise. I hope it turns out to be a great book.

The attention economy is such a bizarre thing. I hate these ‘influencer’ types, yet there I am, scrolling through their feed like a lemming, searching for some style I can lift from them to make myself feel better because I’m unable to form a rational thought in my brain.

I quit mainstream social media in 2018. It never quit me. 🤦‍♀️

It’s fascinating, though, our convergent evolution of sorts.

Now, back to YouTube shorts. 😁

lol. That’s such a perfect way to put it. It never quit me. That one hit

Love the subcutaneous injection. Red and black, lace and silver, the throng beneath the tide. I feel the public… expecting the undercurrent. ❤️🖤

Yay! I was wondering if I was too heavy and too subtle at the same time.

Glad to know it worked. 🖤
